This dynamic role will be responsible for managing the ASC 740 income tax provisions, quarterly reporting, and disclosures; manage the U.S. federal and Canada tax compliance and quarterly estimated payments; assist in tax planning and research; support M&A tax due diligence and integration; identify and champion opportunities for improved efficiency in tax department processes.  Your key relationships and stakeholders will range from internal customers which include all of finance and operations to external customers which include government tax agencies and outside tax advisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare/review global income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 and communicate key results to management and cross-functional teams within Finance Prepare/review income tax footnote, disclosures, quarterly audit schedules, and assist with presentations of quarterly close results to management

  • Plans, manages, and reviews all separate or consolidated U.S. federal and Canada tax returns and work papers to ensure proper determination of liability and timely and efficient reporting.
  • Prepares/oversees the estimated income tax payments process to ensure compliance and maximize cash utilization
  • Partner and collaborate with Financial Planning to provide monthly tax forecast for ETR and cash taxes
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit on SOX compliance initiatives including control and process improvement, etc.Responsible for managing tax fixed asset monthly and annual processing and ensuring appropriate tax reporting

  • Perform as lead on special projects as requested by management including but not limited to M&A due diligence and support, special transactions, technical issues documentation, process management, etc.
  • Liaise with and provide responses to internal and external auditors during the quarterly audit cycle; work with outside vendors and internal departments on tax technology development, improvement and implementation
  • Develop systems and procedures that lead to process improvements.
  • Participate in development and mentoring of staff

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Education: BA/BS in Accounting/Finance, CPA preferred
  • Experience: 7-10 relevant tax experience
  • Extensive background in US federal and Canada tax compliance and Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740) experience with SEC/quarterly reporting preferred
  • Proficient in tax preparation software preferably Corptax, Microsoft suite, and ERP applications
